We have deep and wide ranging expertise in multiple areas including music, cognitive neuroscience, neuroplasticity, human and artificial intelligence, nutrition and metabolism, cognitive decline and dementia, elite, health optimization, and elite performance.
Ultimately, our goal is to extract the latest insights from the halls of science and academia to develop programs, tools, and resources to help people learn music any age, maintain a fit and healthy brain, and realize their full potential.
JOSH TURKNETT, MD
Josh is the Founder of Brainjo, creator of the Brainjo Method of instruction, and friend to banjos around the world.

COREY SCHUMAN
A man of wide ranging talents, Corey is responsible for wrangling the ones and zeroes that power the Brainjo Academy when they misbehave, while keeping a keen eye on the technological horizon.
DAN PARDI, MS, PhD
With a master’s in exercise physiology and a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, Dan has deep expertise in multiple areas related to health and cognitive performance optimization. His varied background includes work with the Special Forces and Naval Special Warfare. He is also the creator and CEO of humanOS.me, a digital health training application.
TOMMY WOOD, MD, PhD
Dr. Tommy Wood is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Washington, where his research includes the physiological and metabolic responses to brain injury and their long-term effects on brain health, as well as developing easily accessible methods with which to track human health, performance, and longevity. In addition to his academic work, Tommy has coached athletes in a dozen sports, from weekend warriors to Olympians and world champions.
GINNY ROBARDS
Ginny is a science writer and researcher with a special interest and background in nutrition, physical activity, sleep and circadian physiology, and other elements of lifestyle medicine. She is especially gifted in crafting scientific content that is interesting and engaging for laypersons and experts.
MEGAN HALL, MS
As a master health coach, Megan has worked with individuals of all levels of health and fitness – from professional athletes looking to optimize performance, to those who are sick and wanting to feel better. Megan has degrees in Exercise Biology and Nutritional Biology, and in her research has focused on the effects of low carbohydrate and ketogenic diets on longevity and healthspan.
TIM GARDNER
Master luthier at Cedar Mountain Banjos, Tim makes all of the Brainjo line of banjos by hand. When he’s not creating the best sounding banjos on the planet, Tim can often be found playing fiddle for the bluegrass band Unspoken Tradition.
